Nick is the former Men's and Women's Épée coach at NJIT, a rising Division‑1 fencing program in Newark, NJ, and now brings that high‑level competitive experience to athletes at Elite Fencers Club.

Alina combines high‑level international experience with a warm, detail‑oriented teaching style. She is passionate about helping young athletes build confidence, discipline, and a deep love for fencing.

Nishay Bhatnagar

Varsity alum & former team captain • Elite FC alum

Nishay is a varsity fencing alum and former team captain with a strong background in leadership and mentorship. He began fencing in high school as one of Coach Nick's first students at Elite FC and has remained deeply connected to the sport ever since. He combines technical fencing experience with a thoughtful, supportive coaching style and is passionate about helping fencers build confidence, discipline, and skill.

Education

Nishay earned his B.A. in biochemistry and music composition from Vassar College. He is about to earn his M.D. from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, where he will remain for residency training in ophthalmology.

Coaching

His thoughtful, supportive coaching style has been developed through years of teaching, tutoring, and mentoring. Nishay brings the same focus and care to every lesson at Elite Fencers Club.

Matthew Choi

Matthew Choi

NJIT Division‑1 • MACFA team champion • Vancouver Senior World Cup

Matthew Choi is a former member of the NJIT NCAA Division I Fencing Team and was a regular starter throughout his collegiate career. Despite taking up fencing at the age of 21, he rapidly developed into a Division I competitor and was competing on the NCAA Division I stage by age 22. While at NJIT, Matthew was a two-time MACFA Epee Team Champion, and at 23, he qualified for the Vancouver Senior World Cup. His career highlights an uncommon trajectory marked by rapid improvement, competitive success, and a strong commitment to excellence.
